Launch Complex 36 was constructed in support of the Atlas-Centaur rocket program. It featured a single blockhouse and two launch pads, each of which was supported by its own single mobile service tower. Launch Complex 36 was the oldest modern launch complex to utilize an on-site blockhouse. The blockhouse served Launch Complex 36 from its first launch to its last.
